What is she up to you ask?

For those of you who are not completely sure what I am up to I will fill you in. I am headed to Naples, Italy to do summer camp for the US military children in Naples.
I came across this opportunity because WSU is a training site for Camp Adventure. Last winter I found flyers in the College of Education and I figured I should check it out. Well I showed up to the interview and I got a position as a camp counselor. It is an educational program through the University of Iowa and I will get 12 graduate credits from UNI. Camp Adventure is contracted through the MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation), a department of the military. This is really exciting for me because my Grandbarb worked the MWR in San Diego for many years. As Camp Adventure we come in and put on a wonderful, exciting summer camp for these children.

Camp Adventure pays for our plane ticket, they provide us housing (I will stay in military housing while in Naples), and we get a small living stipen to survive the summer. We are not paid because it is an "educational program" and it prevents us from having to deal with work visas, but I will also get credits that will work towards my master's degree (eventually).

So that is what I am up to, we are staying with my Uncle Ricky tonight and I am headed to the airport bright and early!
